多元智能課程 Multiple Intelligences Curriculum |
|
活動組負責為學生籌辦各項多元化活動，使學生能在德、智、體、群、美方面得到均衡發展，培養健全人格。本校根據美國哈佛大學教授霍德華‧嘉納 (Howard Gardner) 的研究，明白人類智能具有多元性，因此本校特設多元智能課程，讓學生能有系統地於六年小學生活中接受不同智能的培訓，啟發學生在不同方面的潛能。

Alphie's Lagoon Phonics & Reading Program |

Our school collaborated with the School Administration and Management System (SAMS) Training & Research Unit of The Hong Kong Baptist University in 2005 to
organize the "Success for All - Alphie's Lagoon Phonics & Reading Program" for our Primary one to three students. The program was adapted from the Success
For All Foundation (SFAF) , Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, USA.
The Alphie's Lagoon Phonics & Reading Program is a fun, fast-paced, and systematic phonics program that builds up students' skills in various areas, such as
phonemic awareness, letter-sound correspondence and word-level blending. It has provided our students with an experiential learning, which gives them the
necessary foundation for learning English. During the years, our students engaged in fun-filled learning activities, which develop and enhance their reading
skills. Students have learnt some phonetic skills and are able to apply them to listening, reading, and speaking through activities, stories, and games
during the English lessons. The program lasts for 3 years (60 lessons, amount to 180 hours). In order to monitor students’ performance, there are exercises
and assessments at regular intervals.
Our English teachers are fully trained. Each Primary one student was provided a set of learning materials that includes 12 story books, 3 fast track phonics
partner practice booklets about the letter sounds.
In order to promote close co-operation between our teachers and the parents, seminar was held before starting the program. We encouraged parents to attend
our seminar to understand more about the program, and to be kept informed of their children's progress and development. Parents learned how to assist their
children to use the learning materials at home.
